Devotion of the Day

The first person to break the sound barrier.  Christmas shopping in uncrowded malls. Teenagers with good posture. Those who arrive for church services ten minutes early.  Magazines your grandmother lets you cut up.  Highly absorbent paper products. Paratroopers. A bouquet of sweet peas to take to a teacher.  Not missing a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.  Those who do not judge.  Those who do not condemn.  The ability to live in the now.  Building engineers.  Finding the receipt for the item you need to return.  The comforting regularity of train whistles in the night.  The release of tension.  God's command that caused all things to be.  A firm grip.  Clean white sneakers. Spur-of-the-moment breakfast dates.

Just a few more things to be grateful for (Excerpts taken from 10,000 Things to Praise God for by Jan Dargatz)
