CLAY The National Canadian Lutheran Anglican Youth event (CLAY) promises to be one of the most thrilling opportunities of the year for youth and young adults. With space for up to 24 youth, our road trip will set off from Victoria. Coordinating with Lutherans and Anglicans from across British Columbia, bus-loads of youth will join our convoy as we journey out to Saskatoon, experiencing worships, laughs and the sights along the way.
" At CLAY you will encounter scripture in meaningful ways, experience ancient and modern ways of worship, learn in special interest Forums, enjoy fantastic social events, tour Saskatoon, make connections with youth from all over Canada and celebrate our lives together. This is also a youth-centered program that empowers youth and develops leadership.” – CLAY Organizer
“CLAY 2010 was an amazing experience - both my daughter and I attended. She (surprisingly) loved the keynote speaker and learned a lot about living a life of faith which as a parent I could see had a huge impact on her. I was amazed by the excitement and commitment of people who were there, and to see a thousand young Anglicans and Lutherans from every part of Canada. It's hard to choose a favourite moment - whether it was the learning forums, the large group gatherings, worship experiences or simply having the chance to meet and get to know people from all over. With a team of young people, I helped lead the getting-to-know you activities on the first day. The profoundest impact of CLAY is for young people to see that they are not alone as youth in the church - even if they come from congregations with very few young people. Travelling to and participating in CLAY is a chance for youth to see that there are peers all over who want to take their faith seriously and who are committed to community - all while having an amazing fun time! I'm looking forward to CLAY 2012 and heading up a new project (specialist home teams) in getting youth involved directly in leadership.” -Judy Steers, national youth ministries organizer
